Luxurious Lake Como Wedding at Villa Balbiano

Lake Como: home to some of the most beautiful lakeside villas in all the world. Our clients Anoush + Sokrat chose Villa Balbiano to host their nuptials. When the Anoush came across the villa on Instagram, she became obsessed. She fell in love with the glamour and prestige. It was the kind of wedding backdrop she had been dreaming of since she was a little girl. Before even reaching out to us for wedding planning, she booked the venue without ever having laid eyes on it. She hadn’t even been to Italy but she knew that Villa Balbiano was the perfect place for her.

The villa is gorgeous, with vast gardens and a stunning view. For the design, we opted for a minimal approach used floral elements to act as an extension of the garden. Luscious greenery and bright yellow lemons were installed in topiary style arrangements to mimic the formal gardens. The personal flowers were made in neutral tones and we used large elegant white blooms of roses and orchids for classic elegance.

The ceremony on the lawn overlooking the lake was the highlight of the day. Anoush entered the space with a grand entrance style via the center set of doors while the rest of the bridal party walked in through the side. For the processional, they selected a very evocative song, Sam Smith’s Fire on Fire, and we had the string quartet play the instrumentals over the recorded song. The result was very strong and moving and when the grand doors were opened and everyone saw the bride in her gorgeous custom made gown, the group was speechless.
